Looking at the pics of the Excel show on the APFS site I wondered if the APFS organization owns the whole stage set up? or just all tyhe interior rigging stuff. Maybe Nick, you might know this. What about those big video screens who do they belong to.....a Co called XL Video?

i would believe that they are owned by the actual EdExcel company, surely APFS couldnt own them as they whould put them on at every gig, or they could be hired? Just a thought hey?

Well, as the rig is identical at every gig (to the best of my eyesight), and they have two or three huge articulated lorries parked round the back of each venue, I'd say they own all the stuff themselves.

Either that or they lease the same stuff on a rolling basis.

I don't think the stuff they used at Excel was "in-house" stuff.

I suspect the rig is owned by their management company but that is a pure guess. If they still have the tour diary's up on the other side you could see the rig they use without all the blackout curtains etc. It was the one where they were doing the rehearsals.
Are we nearly there yet?

I reckon too they are hired by CMP. I've seen several CMP outdoor gigs over the years, Chas organises the British Grand Prix after-race party for example ( this year was Status Quo ) and the stage set up exactly the same as TAPFS at Beaulieu, set up in the middle of the track. This party is free for all race ticket holders, downside is cheapest ticket was ?99 this year, however I'm fortunate enough to get a press pass Some of the F1 drivers such as Jenson Button etc are interviewed on stage before the gig by Tony Jardine.

I said to Colin at Pops 2 ( himself a motorsport nut) Chas should get the Aussies to do the 2007 Silverstone Grand Prix. After all Waters and PF music went down a storm at the French GP according to many folk that I know in F1. A lot of the teams got free tickets for staff etc.

Downside is concert begins around 6pm. Not dark enough, however the constant flow of helicopters would add reality to the intro to the happiest days...
Silverstone is the worlds busiest airport for one day per year - over 1500 helicopter take off & landings bringing VIPs in and folk who cant be bothered to drive.
