I'm not gonna add a lot of details here -- I will say that it was a gathering of the tribute tribes.  Me, and Which One's Pink? bassist Paul Samarin and keyboardist Larry Isenberg got a chance to smooze at the "afterparty" with not only the Aussie Floyd band that took the stage this evening but also with Steve Mac and Colin Wilson who were in attendance taking in the show -- WHOA!  Putting to rest any rumors, it is true that Jamie Humphreys is playing guitar on this tour in place of Steve Mac -- Damian has moved to the center mic!  Jamie, who is stellar (that's the only word I can come up with tonight), was recommended to the Aussies by Dave Kliminster!  And of course, Ian is on bass and has taken a large portion of the vocals -- including many Gilmour vocals on which he does a stunning job.  We learned tonight from Ian that he used to be in a NY based Floyd tribute called The Crazy Diamonds that played Southern Cal in the early 90s -- this is a band that we had heard of but none of us had ever seen them by the time we started in '98.  Small freaking world!  Damian told us a story about the Aussie drum tech who worked with Nick Mason but missed Nick's LA apperances with Roger Waters because the tech was on tour with Toto.  Well, our guitar player just played two gigs with Phil Soussan and Steve Lukather of Toto sat in with them -- we're just two degrees removed from the Aussies.  Anyway, I took my camera but there was a ban on flash photography -- below are the few photos I could snap.

Ian will tell you that it's no fun playing Pigs TDO without a bass for a spell -- but he pulled it off!  More later

Thanks again Dan,so glad that you had fun filled night and thank you for explaining the minor detail of change to the on stage line-up! Such an inconsequentle change barely needs to be revealed to the majority of ardent Aussie Floyd fans who have done so much over the years to promote the band.

Fantastic! Thanks, Dan. Wish I had been there. And once again, Mr Kidson has to play 4 songs in the same show - he'll burn out at this rate.  ;D
