I think that looks about right in terms of setlist -- the running order in the second set may have differed slightly (but I'll be damned if I can remember it myself), but all the songs are there.
I was slightly disappointed to hear "Speak To Me" kick off the show, because I knew the entire Dark Side was in order -- and I had seen it already recently, done by Roger. However, that disappointment was LONG GONE by the time "Time" rolled around. I was incredibly impressed with the Dark Side set. Incredibly impressed. And this is coming from someone who just saw Roger, the guy who wrote the entire thing, and his merry band of consumate professionals stroll through Dark Side in its entirety not 2 months ago.
I remarked to my wife, sitting next to me: "Ummm...wow. I almost think they did Dark Side better than Roger did." And she agreed with me.
Although seeing Dark Side meant that we missed another Animals tune and/or another Division Bell or Wall tune, Dark Side was so well done that it made up for any initial disappointment.
The level of musicianship floored me. Absolutely floored me. I didn't really know going in what to expect. This was my first time seeing the Aussies. I had seen some of their concert on PBS and had some inkling that it was going to be a pretty good show -- but I had no idea it was going to be this good. Singing was excellent, guitar-playing was outstanding (the ending of Pigs 3DO was mindblowing), drummer solid -- and the backup singers: WOW. Whoever did "Great Gig," didn't catch her name, was superior to Roger's concert.
And the laser/light display. Fantastic! For those songs done a la Dave & Co.'s Division Bell tour of 1994, they had everything perfectly nailed. Perfectly.
The crowd was great: loud, and VERY, VERY into the show. Standing ovations throughout, a lot of dancing in the aisles, you name it.
Twenty-five bucks? For this show? What a steal. I'd go again without thinking twice.
Come back around next year, Aussies! And remember Cincinnati!
