Hi all.Been dropping in here for a while as a guest but thought i would add in me own small way now and again to the forum.
I and the rest of the Basildon Branch of Floyd fanatics were once again out in force at the Cliffs Pavilion for the third year in a row and for the third year in a row were blown away.Superb sound, production and performance. The same set as on prev nights i think but no Sheep or Pigs for some reason.
I have always wanted to hear On the Turning Away live and was not dissappointed. The solo at the end of that piece was nothing short of perfection.
You kind of run out of superlatives as the evening goes on.It's all been said by others on here but all 8 of us agreed on the way home that in the absence of the original, the Aussies fill the gap more than adequately.
Yes,a bunch of Floyd was mentioned......
It might be just my take on the evening but the last 2 years the audience have been very vocal and lively. This year, despite it being the best show yet,the place was quite reserved until the end ovation.
Lets put it down to being a Bank Holiday weekend in an English seaside town shall we........
Had a quick chat with one of the guys on the mixing desk on the way out, nice fella.Very impressive set up.
Next stop Rochester Castle in July.
Bring it on..............and if the band read this, you will make a group of people VERY happy if you could include Sorrow on the 14th.
Keep up the good work and next year again please.
