Malta, a small island with a population of 402,000 (2006 estimate) is the "number one Floyd country in Europe"?

Did it win that title in a competition or something?  Or are you being paid by the Minister for Tourism?

It is true considering the population there are more Floyd fans in Malta then anywhere in Europe. I am talking %. Do you think if it wasn't so Roger Waters would ever consider to play here. But he was here last Year. And by the way I do not have anything to do with the  Ministry of Tourism.  I don't even have the same political inclinations!! But facts are facts. Ask Aussie Floyd themselves what they thing about there first time in Malta 2 years ago! Or read the interview of the Sun some weeks ago, they mentioned the concert  in Malta!!!
And  on the official website the Malta gig is confirmed go to www.maltajazzfestival.com and click on jazz festival

On the official site it's there, but you still can't book tickets and I had a word with a friend in Malta over the weekend who told me the same thing

Skotch (still dubious about it happening)

I spent some time 2 or 3 weeks ago trying to get more information, including tickets, but I also drew a blank.

When Mrs Mike and I went to Malta 2 years ago there was an excellent link from the www.aussiefloyd.com site to a travel company, maltabargains.com I think it was, which we used and they were first class. We got a package from them for flights, hotel, gig tickets and transfers, all at a very sensible price. No sign of the same thing for this year yet, but fingers crossed. Trouble is, this years gig is later and is right in the peak holiday season and when I looked recently prices of hotels and flights reflected this. Could be a stumbling block for me I'm afraid.

Maltabargains are a good bunch to use generally for the island.  I'm lucky in as much as I could go over when I want BUT, as you say yourself, no tickets at the moment means I'm not prepared to take a chance on booking other things especially flights for something I have a feeling in my bones may not happen (as it transpired to be the case last year).  Also, as you say, the closer to the time it gets, the less chance I will have of dropping what I'm doing to go over to see them, much as I would love to do

Its the 22nd May and the gig is due on 19th July. Cutting it a bit fine aren't we chaps ? Or do the organisers of the Malta Jazz Festival have no interest in attracting British fans to the event?
Personally I gave serious thought to changing my travel plans in order to accommodate this gig. Upon reflection I'm glad I decided not to take the risk of upsetting Mrs bigdog,I've left my arrangements as they are. ???

Hi to all
I Live In Malta and I can assure you that the gig in Malta is on 100%. i know the organisers, they are the same who brought Roger Waters over last year. The tickets have not been on sale yet but it's because they are concentrating on Bryan Adams concert on 28th June, tickets should be out in a few weeks time now. And now Ryan Air operates to Malta at a very low cost. Even Air Malta is operating low cost at the Moment from London Manchester and Liverpool I Beleive. The gig is part of a four day festival which will also feature among others PP Arnold, Zuccheroo from Italy a very popular Rock And Blues Artist , and the Wialers. APF will be headlining the thursday event. It will be at the new Valletta Waterfornt in the middle of the grand Harbour. I know the details as I heard it anounced on a leading  radio station by a Fanatic Pink Floyd DJ.  If you still don't believe me go to the promoters website www.nngpromotions.com and then click on Jazz Festival.
