Sitting that close, I was continually scanning back and forth across the stage, just trying to take it all in. It was kind of distracting. Plus, the show is designed to focus on the center of the arena, which for us, was behind our section.
I know what ya mean. When I saw them last year in Fort Worth, I was two rows in front of the "front" row (in the front row of folding chairs in the little security buffer zone). By the end of the night, I seemed to have a kink in my nick from looking almost straight up. However, when I saw them in Houston the next night, I was sitting in the center of the lower level, right next to the soundboard. I much preferred that seat, as I considered it to be one of the best in the house (the best seat, of course, was occupied by the security guard who was sitting directly
in front of the soundboard). The sound was fantastic, the lights were incredible, and the crew member sitting in the seat to the left of me had the official setlist in hand for me to jot down on my way out at the end of the night (I posted it here the next day, when I arrived home). The funny thing is that at both shows, I had people around me asking how I got my seat... "Dude, are you friends with the band or something?" I was like, "no, I'm just incredibly lucky!"
