TOPIC: Strathmore at Bethesda

Strathmore at Bethesda 4 years, 6 months ago #1

This was my 4th time seeing TAPFS and they are even better than the last time I saw them in Reno in the summer  This was my first time at the Strathmore and it is an incredible venue.  Very posh!  The setlist was in line with what I have read here with DSOTM followed by "hits".  The one real surprise was Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun.  The Aussies added their own twist and it was magnificent.  The sound was fantastic and the only thing I noticed was the glitch with Pigs.  They had to restart the song but no one seemed to mind.  Maybe there was some technical difficulty as there was no inflatable pig during that song.  They made up for it with "Skippy" during "One of These Days".  Most of the people I spoke with had never seen TAPFS before and were blown away.  Long lines at the T-shirt/DVD vendors.  Great show!

thanks for the read Steelhead, glad you enjoyed yourself again! Carl and Jamie crank on STCFTHOTS!

Re: Strathmore at Bethesda 4 years, 6 months ago #4

STCFTHOTS was probably my favorite on the tour this year, that and Hey You.  Set the controls was just out of control.  It sounded so cool with that solo and  Jamie Humphries made it really "fit in" with the song and Pink Floyd style.  Hey You was classic too because it really gave that feeling I get when I hear anything off of The Wall.  I can't wait for best of The Wall tour next year  and hopefully the full rendition of The Wall next year.  Glad you enjoyed the show.  Definitly hard not to.
