Hello everyone thought I would post a little bit about myself and tell you all about the show at the Tower Theater last night.First off,I am a veteran concert goer who started attending shows in 1973.If there was/is a tour that passed thru the Philly/NY/DC area, chances were very good I was present. At last ticket stub count, its up to 517 shows and counting.(I have lost some ticket stubs,so its more like 540) Needless to say,I have been blessed and lucky enough to see  just about every band from ABBA to ZZTop and everyone in between. These so called tribute bands are not included in my total just because none were really all that good.(Get The Led Out,a Led Zeppelin tribute band, is the only exception.Highly recommended). Anyway, some of my favorite concerts have always been the shows where a band incorporates a superb sound mix, great lighting/lazar show, and decent staging. In my opinion, all those elements just add to an overall concert experience. Some of my all time favorite concerts have been Yes "Relayer" tour, Yes 10th Anniversary "in The Round" tour, Supertramp "Breakfast in America" tour,Kansas "Left Overture" tour,Steeley Dan "Heavy Rollers" tour,Roger Waters "In The Flesh" tour,Pink Floyd "In The Flesh" (Animals) tour,Pink Floyd "Pulse" tour,Electric Light Orchestra "Out Of The Blue" tour, and The Eagles "When Hell Freezes Over Part 2" tour.Well, after last nights Aussie Floyd show,I just might have to add them to this great list.I am still in a state of shock. The sound, sights, and overall concert experience rank right up there with the best of them. This is NOT a tribute band, they are a.........a........hmmm I guess they are a great band in their own right.(That still doesn't do them justice).Their stage presence, musicianship, and singing were all top notch.Along with the lighting and round screen, this is a show not to be missed. The set list was the same as some other shows with Dark Side opening up the show.Highlights for me were.........hmmm.........ah........well actually pretty much the whole show was a highlight.Thank you for indulging me and reading, I have to go now and  buy tickets for their Hershey show.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your thoughts I'm glad that you were pleased. I do agree with you that the description "tribute band " is somehow not good enough to cover the overall quality and skill of the aussie floyd but i guess we are just stuck with it coz is easy to say?
Ive been gig-ing since 1969 so you and I have seen a hell of a lot of bands between us ;D

Nice read TTL. Yes, the Aussies are awesome and like the notaussiefloyd front page says.. They left Dave, Roger, Richard, and Nick behind, but I don't think anyone noticed.

Welcome to the site!
Hanging on in quiet desperation.....

It's funny, when new people come on to this site and read what most of us fans of this band have written, I'm sure there are many that will feel we are not really being objective anymore because we are "rabbit fans" of the Aussies. But we do speak honestly that's for sure. So when I read a first post from you MrTTL, clearly a guy who has a great appreciation and experience for a live music concert, it gives credibility to how we all feel as well. It was a great read, and I hope any doubters in the lurking community will just step up and buy a ticket and go and see these guys. Any Floyd music fan will kick there own arse if they miss this concert and then later find out how good it really is, and then have to wait another year or more to see them next time they come through.

Thanks again for the post, I really enjoyed it.

Bob

Welcome to the forum MrTTL. I'm always joining in the tribute band debates on forums, usually started by someone criticising a band they haven't seen. There's one on the Mojo forum at the moment.
