G’day mates. Here’s my review of the Baltimore show at the Hippodrome Theater. I’ve been seeing TAPFS since 2005, and this is the first year I didn’t have to drive from
Baltimore to Philadelphia to see them. It was great seeing them 20 minutes from my
house. The crowd was really buzzing, I was going around for an hour before the show
telling people in the lobby how great the band was and what a treat they were in for.
The show started promptly at 7:30 {a welcome change from most rock shows.} The
opening heartbeats of Dark Side of the Moon started, slowly building to become loud
and intense. I saw them do the entire “Wish You Were Here” cd in 2005 but this was
much better. They went through the entire cd, not missing a single note, harmony, sound
effect or anything. The video screen movies with the Kangaroo are incredible. Especially him laying back on the bed with his sunglasses on during “On the Run.”
I had a fear that they wouldn’t have the laser show since it was a much smaller venue
than Tower Theater in Philadelphia , but I wasn’t disappointed. The song selection was
amazing, including an incredible version of “Set the Controls for the Heart of the sun.”
The band has taken every step to present the complete Pink Floyd experience. This is NOT a tribute band by any means, this band is the complete Pink Floyd show. I saw
Pink Floyd 4 times on the Division Bell tour, and this show was just as good, if not
better. The vocals are a little better with TAPFS. They have gotten a little better since
last year. The chorus of “Comfortably Numb” was absolutely beautiful. Nobody Home
was incredible, the bass player sat in a chair with a lamp behind him. Incredibly
intense. Anyone who has not seen this band must see them. Not only are they the
closest you will get to Pink Floyd, they are just as good. This is the COMPLETE
Pink Floyd show. Anyone who disagrees with me is just wrong!! I had the time of
life last night, and thank god I’m seeing them next week in Hershey.
Thanks for reading my review.
