TOPIC: A lil' help please

A lil' help please 4 years, 6 months ago #1

If one from Massachusetts, say me, was thinking about attending a show in the UK or Dublin or that area, how would one go about doing so?  What information would I need?  I'm probably planning on 2009, not so much 2008.  But in any event, I don't really know how to get started on a trip like this.  Any information you can give me will be greatly appriciated.

It may sound condescending, but believe me, its not meant to be, but a good place to start would be to make sure you have a passport!

I personally know of Americans who think that their drivers licence is ID enough to allow them into another country

If you are serious about coming over I would suggest you plan the visit as a holiday and not just a trip to see a show. That way if things don't go as planned with the show, it won't be a complete disaster.
Are we nearly there yet?

Fossil is right, that's what I did was build the holiday around the two concerts I had planned to see. Well, as fate would have it, I missed the Gilmour concert/premier in London on Sept 6th because a suspicious package was found at the railway station I was leaving from! But I did get to see TAPFS on the 1st of Sept.

Go to a travel agent and start window shopping for ideas and prices. It's the time to start saving now, but too early to book a trip yet as we won't know any of the APFS UK 2009 dates until about this time next year!.

Have fun planning!

I found Expedia to be helpful.  I went to the UK last year on an Expedia booked holiday.

I'd also aim to go to the UK during the height of the Aussie's UK tour season, thereby greatly increasing one's chances of catching a show, or six....

Thanks for your input everyone!  Any suggestions as to which venue would be excellent for a show?
