TOPIC: Houston Show

Houston Show 4 years, 6 months ago #1

Well, another Great Houston show in the history books. It was the standard "Dark Side of the Moon" show, starting off with the entire DSOTM set.
I missed seeing the inflatibles this tour, but they did have more lights, with the arch, and lasers added since last time here. The new animations are cool.
What can I say, they just keep getting better!
I scored a couple of new tour shirts. That's right, actual tour shirts, dated, with the NA cities listed on back. New designs this time too.
I also picked up the new DVD.
The only bad thing I can think of, is that I have to wait another year to see them again...
I'm sure someone will be along with pictures, as I think I was the only one there who did NOT have a camera.

Can't wait till next year!!!

THE NEW DVD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  WOW!!!  I've been waiting to get my hands on this one.  Finally!!!!  ;D

... oh and about waiting another year to see them... why wait a year?  They're playing in San Antonio Saturday night!    Hell, I'm driving all the way from Dallas to see them on Saturday (AFTER I see them here tomorrow night).
Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend...we were all equal in the end.

Man, I wish I had the time to make all the Texas Shows, but it just isn't in the cards. Life gets in the way of my recreational activities..
BUT....when I win the lotto, I'm gonna buy a tour bus just like theirs, and follow them around... ;D

We were supposed to follow them in Bob's Lear jet but it's been in the shop...  :'(
Hanging on in quiet desperation.....

Yes, another great show!  The Aussies continue to amaze me every year!  The chair and lamp bit for Nobody Home was outstanding.  Ian's Roger Waters voice just gets better every year. His Roger rant during RLH was spot-on. "Pathetic!"  And Damian really pulled out all the stops for an unbelievable end solo to Comfy.  But that's not all, everybody Jason, Paul, Mike, Ola and Amy, all were fantastic.

It was not without issues, however small.  During the solo for Time, Jamie's amp was giving him some sort of trouble (couldn't tell it by the sound of it), and he had his tech working on it while playing.  Jamie soldiered on, and managed to still pick up 90% of the notes.  All the crucial ones for sure.  Anyone in the audience who hasn't played that solo on guitar a thousand times would not have even noticed the difference from the record.

Also, I don't know if it was me, but it sounded like Ian almost spaced on the words for Money in the verse that starts "Money, so they say..."  When he got to the "so they say" part, he came in a split second after the beat like he blanked and then the words came to him.  Again, not something 99% of the audience would even notice.  I'm just super-observant, heehee.

And, I missed Hoppy and the Big Pig, but I understand that things happen.

Oh, and not to say too much, but thanks to a sweet petite blonde in the touring company, I managed to get my RAH DVD signed by most of the band!  All in all, it was still the best Aussie experience I've had to date.

My quest for meeting the band in person will have to continue next year.  Bwahhahaha...

Yeah, that was another great show.  They did seem to be having some sort of technical problems during the first set, but they had them worked out in the second.  The second set rocked the faces off of the unprepared.  The light and laser show was great, as were the visuals.  Ian's rant at the start of Run Like Hell was great!  Already looking forward to seeing them next year.  ;D

I did miss my pig and roo though.  >  I took some newbies and had talked about the pig, so not having him was disappointing.

I got the wife a shirt and picked up the RAH DVD also.  Taking the day off just so i can watch it!
