Just got back fom the Dallas show... wow.  Well, I'll begin with the setlist (which I hope is close to the right order--if I left something out, lemme know).

1st Half:
Dark Side Of The Moon

2nd Half:
Shine On 1-5
Welcome To The Machine
Take It Back
Set The Controls
Nobody Home
Pigs (3DO)
On The Turning Away
Wish You Were Here
One Of These Days
Bricks 2
(band introductions)
Comfortably Numb
---
Hey You
Run Like Hell

Now on to the review.. The lights and music were awesome, and Welcome To The Machine was a nice surprise.  However, the evening was not without its flaws:  Nothing from The Final Cut was played, Learning to Fly was left out, and I think the band was having problems with the equipment during Pigs (Three Different Ones).  The guitar cut out at the beginning, and then Ian missed his cue to come in w/ vocals for the first verse.  However, they quickly recovered and finished it off nicely.  There were also a few lyrical mishaps--Ian mixed up some of the words on Shine On & on Hey You, but overall it was a fantastic concert.  If all goes well, I'll be going to the San Antonio show Saturday night, and I'll be back with a review for that one too!

;D

...oh by the way, there was another issue--parking was FIFTEEN DOLLARS!!!!  That was outrageous in my opinion, but that's not the band's fault.  I'll think twice before going to a show at that venue again.
Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend...we were all equal in the end.

Hey

The venues arrangments for parking do indeed have NOTHING to do with the band.
Unfortunate thing is, here in the UK we're used to paying outrageous fees for parking, and it makes me very cross too!
:-[

Glad you enjoyed the show! Sounds like you had a great time... wish i'd been there!

xh

C'mon  man... I'm trying to give a fair review.  Seriously, the show was badass.  And I know that band has nothing to do w/ parking, etc... the venue blew chunks, but the show was awesome.  I was VERY IMPRESSED, and I think they get better each time I see them!  My "critiques" are simply an attempt at objectivity, despite the fact that i see this band through rose-colored glasses.    You wanna hear me bitch n whine?  Lemme describe my disappointment after seeing Waters in 2000!  :G  I'll try not to get too far off topic, but let's just say I liked the 2007 shows better.

...and to get way, way, way off topic, Metallica in 1998 was one of the worst live shows I've ever seen...the Reload tour... ewww (too bad we don't have a vomiting smiley, because it would be appropriate here).
Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend...we were all equal in the end.

Greetings all...

I'm a newbie to the forum...but have been a fan of Aussie Floyd for nearly four years now...and a fan of Pink Floyd since I was 1987. I was at the Dallas show with my wife and we were fortunate to sit in the front row just off center directly in front of Damian Darlington and Jason the Keyboardist. What an incredible night it was. The setlist that has been posted seems to be quite accurate. As for the little mishap during "Pigs"...yeah well...no big deal....Damian blew us all away when he rocked that guitar solo at the end. He was so dead on tonight...and Jamie Humphreys...OH MY GOD....that man can play. And as for Ian Cattell (hope I spelled that right)...I love that guy. He sounds so good on the mic and his bass is nothing less than electrifying. I don't know if I agree with an earlier poster about not seeing the overall show as well from the front row...and the sound possibly being  messed up...I have to say I loved every second of it. I will say that those lights that that ran across the entire foot of the stage were right in our eyes during "One of these Days, Bricks II, and Run Like Hell"....but it was so worth it.

The best part of the evening was getting to meet the band after the show. I have never met a more personable and hospitable group of guys in my life. I didn't get to talk to Jason as much as I would liked to have...but Ian, Amy (backup singer), and Damian and my wife and I had a great time backstage exchanging stories, cutting up and having lots of good laughs until almost 2am. Jamie Humphries popped into the hospitality room for a few minutes. I got my new DVD signed by all of them. Can't tell you how happy I am about that.

Damian offered to set me and my wife up with tickets and backstage passes to the Austin show on Sunday night. Needless to say we accepted (after all it's only three hours from Dallas). Can't wait to see them perform again and absolutely can't wait to chat with them again. They told us what they were doing for Thanksgiving and so now we need to find out if all went well. Ian seemed to be a bit concerned about there not being enough of one particular item to go around for all 28 members of the band and crew. Should be interesting to find out how it all went.

I'll post again after Sunday nights show and give my review of that show.
