Wanted to get a little feedback from the crowd.  went to my first TAPF concert last night in Pittsburgh (go Steelers!!) and was amazed. long time floyd fan.  However, I took my wife, who has only been to like 3 concerts in her life (elton, joel, duran duran) and isnt a meddlehead (into bubble gum).

I really thought I could sway her into this. She looked totally bored and was going thru the motions (clapping, etc.).  Needless to say, I was bummed (still had a great time from a great show!!). My question is, have any of you taken someone to one of their shows and they 'just didnt get it"?

Welcome to the forum, Kup. No it never happened to me, the show usually blows away even the most sceptical of people.

I've been working on trying to get my 16 year old daughter to go to a show with me.  Tried the last two years.  Not working.

Last week, she sat down and watched the entire RAH DVD with me, and even commented on how it was much more of a show than she expected, and that she had never seen a concert with that kind of lighting, effects, etc.  She even said that the music was better than she thought it would be.

Then I asked her if I could get her a ticket for next year's concert.  She said: "Nah."

Well, yes I did as a matter of fact. My dear wife has put up with my Pink Floyd indulgence for 34 yeaqrs now. I took her to see the PULSE tour in '94 and I was stoked at the spectacle I was about to see. Half way through the show I look in her direction (beeming with excitement I'm sure) and low and behold......she was asleep!

We laugh about this to this day!

I got the same from my teenage boys Amuzed!!  I MADE my wife and 14 and 16 year old boys watch the RAH video (just song comfrt-numb).  they were all disinterested. I too offerred to take them to it, and got the same, nah, save your money dad. Unfortunately, they're into that hip-hop and head banger crap.

I am truly depressed. When, and if, they come back to Pitt, I guess I'll go solo so I dont ahve to keep seeing my wife more entertained by the crowd than the performance.  I guess when you grew up listening to Olivia Newton John and David Caruso songs, Floyd just doesnt cut it.

ugggggggg.
