At this point, I'd like to see the whole album theme scrapped. It worked well with DSOTM and WYWH, but too many off us have seen these covered  too many times in a fairly short period. I just don't think Animals or the Wall would work as well with fans other than the truly hard core and I don't want to give
the more casual fans the opportunity to chat loudly during songs they aren't  interested in. There are certain combinations from albums that work well together, I have no problems with keeping a few songs together. I've spoke with many fans at shows who feel the same way. I've seen the brain damage video so many times that I pretty much know which politicians are on the video screen at different points of the song.

So my advice would be scrap the album idea, mix the songs up more, and throw in a few more old ones. During my first show, the song everyone was talking about was "Careful with That Axe Eugene". And most of them hadn't heard the song before.

Looking forward to next year.

I hope you don't mind but I for one don't agree with you.
The whole point of going to an Aussie Floyd gig is because you ARE familiar with the back catalogue of Pink Floyd music.
I assert that the casual fan is very much in the minority at an Aussie gig.
The tour this year is titled, "The Best Of The Wall".  If folk are not interested then why buy a ticket in the first place when its so blatantly obvious what is going to be played ? The purchase of tickets is not compulsory !
I understand perfectly what you say and indeed why  you say it......as usual this is a subject with as many views as there are contributors on this site.
so I'll move over for somebody else to agree/disagree ;D

I'm looking forward to The Best Of The Wall, my only disappointment is that they are not playing the whole album from start to finish. Having said that I can see where mclovin is coming from.
Are we nearly there yet?

There are probaly some legal issues stopping them from doing The Wall in its entirety, that would be my guess anyway. But the best of sounds great to me, I would love to be there. It took a long time for me to really warm up to The Wall, the studio version was just "OK" for me when it came out. Obviously there are some outstanding highlights on the album though. I have really grown to like The Wall. But seeing it performed live, and that viceral intensity that will go along with that would be amazing. Have you all checked out Which One's Pink doing The Wall? The guy that does The Trial is amazing. I wonder who in  the APFS will do The Trial....probably Ian Catell....that's my guess.

Oh gosh I hope they dont do the Trial. In a take of the words of Simpson's comic book guy - "Worst Roger Song ever". Whilst I like the Wall I think it would have been a much stronger Album if they had treated for the lyrical theme contained in the Trial using a more Floyd-like musical structure rather than Rock Opera. I think Roger rather lost the run of himself on this one. In my opinion anyway (and my taste can be dodgy at times). I'm sorry to say that I wont be attending any Ca Ira or "Wall Broadway Shows" anytime soon.

I am kinda DSOTM out.  I am excited to get to hear more of the wall.  I have to disagree about the trial being the worst Roger song ever.  I have some adversion to the Fletcher Memorial Home for some reason, I can't stand it.

I do remember them doing Careful with that Ax in 2005 when I first discovered them and I fell in love with it. It is such a good song but does not have the same effect listening to the album version.  Hearing it live is an awesome experience.
