Aussie Floyd @ Royal Albert Hall

Fantastic show, made all the better by meeting up with lots of forum members......
The set list was as below (I think?), if there are any mistakes Mike, let me know and I will amend  :-[ (and yes Mike did manage to blag a setlist as usual!).

So, the crew managed to meet up prior to the show and have a beer or two in The Queens and it was great to meet Steve & Cindy all the way from California. Enjoy tonight's show guys and safe journey home.

The RAH was just about full it seemed and my APFS virgin arrived just as In The Flesh was ending (he's always late for gigs) and said he had to stop for a beer in The Queens and wondered where we all were! Anyway, his first comment after looking at the crowd jumping around in the boxes was "You silly buggers - it's not Floyd" However, after quite a few numbers I could see a grin appearing on his face. He is still sceptical about 'Tributes' but made a rare complimentary comment after Money saying "Well they did that Ok didn't they!" and he was very impressed with TGGITS. Overall he enjoyed it, he wasn't unfortunately blown away and I don't think he would go again...... you can't please everyone, but he is picky.

The atmosphere was great, Ola & Amy got a standing ovation for TGGITS (but I have to say I thought Poland was better) and I for one thought the light show was very good.

Set List

In The Flesh
The Thin Ice
Another Brick In The Wall (Pt 1)
The Happiest Days Of Our Lives
Another Brick In The Wall (Pt 2)
Learning To Fly
Money
Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
Mother
Sheep

Interval

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5)
Time/Breathe
The Great Gig In the Sky (Ola/Amy)
Goodbye Blue Sky
Empty Spaces/What Shall We Do Now
Young Lust
Keep Talking
Hey You
Nobody Home
One Of These Days
Wish You Were Here
Band Intro's, which included baby Euan ...
Comfortably Numb

Encore

Run Like Hell

On stage at just after 8.00pm and finished at 10.50 pm.

Just a short review, which I may add to later in the day - but then again the rest of the crew are sure to add something? I didn't get home till 2.20 am and I am now late for work, so that's why it's short!

Nice one Tim - I got in at 2am but I was just too tired to post a review. I'm going to leave it to others this time - there were plenty of us there and it's probably a good idea to get other peoples opinions. I will just say that it was a marvellous show which I enjoyed immensely and thanks to both my sons for going with their old man, their company was much appreciated. The Royal Albert Hall is my favourite venue and it didn't let me down.

It was really nice to renew old acquaintances and meet some nice people for the first time. I hope everyone got home safely.

Tim, since you've asked, if you recalled the setlist from memory then I'm impressed. You've just left 'Nobody Home' out though. Slot it in between Hey You and One Of These Days and it's a job done.

Great review thanks for that x

Yep, it was great to meet everyone in the Queens beforehand, sensational gig, great lights even baby Euan made it on stage in Ian's arms during the band introductions from 'Rolf' Sawford who said 'about 9 months ago some bird threw her knickers on stage at him and this is the result' (...nice eh hc! ) Did not see any cameras for those wondering about a new DVD. Personally I never have rated Ola's GGITS above Amy's - a bit too OTT - Amy every time for me, more subtle like the record how it should be done.

Sorry could not stop afterwards guys, hell getting there with the train due to the signal failures and worried about delays getting home - finally home at 3.30 and in work at 8!

Mike, Yep I forgot that one and it was from memory...... must be getting old! Setlist updated now!

You are also right about the RAH, it's a fantastic venue and I love going there everytime. There's not a bad seat in the house and the atmosphere is a bit special. The acoustics are tricky, but the building makes up for it.

I am going to canvas my mate today and get some comments from him, didn't have a chance last night really, as he had to get back because of the trains.

Thanks again to all last night, people make an event just a bit more special (and Sue I forgive you!!!).
