Here am I a humble fan of a special group of musical performers currently extolling the prowess of the band and in the process of doing my usual unofficial PR bit in furtherance of getting new people into venues to enjoy the band for the first time.
Already I have at least 6 people wanting to come to the Peterborough gig with me.
Ive just had a strange phone conversation with Peterborough Broadway Box Office(having tried since yesterday to book tickets on line and failed ) when finally after 35 Min's of trying I got through.
Hello, could I please book tickets for the front row of the centre circle ?
Answer= No you cant.
Me= oh, have they sold out already ? OK then,what about the second row ?
Answer= You cant do that either.
We have tickets downstairs you can purchase.
Me= Well actually I'm aware just how good this show is. I'm bringing friends for their first experience of the band and I'd like them to be in the best vantage point to get the optimum effect of the lighting and sound.....hence my reason in calling well in advance of the gig.
Answer= Well Sir, the manager has decided that we are not selling ANY tickets for the circle until all downstairs seating has been sold. We have seven hundred of those to sell you know !!!!
If I wasn't so bemused by this strange business strategy its just possible that I might find it ever so slightly amusing.
I'm prepared to make an effort but the venue might have just as well have told me to PISS-OFF.
