What a fantastic night, the Aussies really have got this show tuned to perfection now. ;D

They opened with In The Flesh , the woman in front of me just about jumped out of her seat , Jason's keyboards appeared not to be working at the beginning, but was soon fixed by a crew member .

Then followed The Thin Ice , Another Brick Pt1, Happiest days. For some reason people around us seemed to get bored ???, maybe they didn't know this material but these song's were executed superbly. This tour is a Best Of The Wall set, for gods sakes

The crowd seemed to wake up during Another Brick Pt2, it's the song EVERYONE knows (or at least should do), then onto Learning To Fly with the introduction of the lasers that could have done with more dry ice in the air to enhance the effect.

The classic money followed, with some new projections (I think), Mike the sax makes his first appearance and it's so good to hear him playing at his best again and looking well.

Then the spine tingling Set The Controls, I absolutely love this version the TAPFS play, they seem to have made it there own and it never ceases to amaze me every time I hear it played live, the projections add yet another dimension to this rendition.

Next Followed Mother, again with new projections and spot-on, next Pigs which I love played live, I think the Aussie make this song sound fresh and alive again, the pig makes it's appearance and then it's time for a beer, if you can get to the bar that is.

2nd set.

Opens with Shine On 1-5, yet again fantastic, Time follows with projections now covering the whole of the back drop of the stage, 3 projectors are now used .

GGITS, well what can one say, both girls nailed it (Ola & Emily, I think), not a dry eye in the house and the standing ovation was well deserved.

Then it's back to more Wall material, Goodbye Blue Sky with projections that look remarkably like the Gerald Scarfe animation on The Wall film, Empty Space and Young Lust follow, Young Lust is belted out with all the grit and grunt that this songs deserves.

Keep Talking sounds amazing with the girls showing their backing skills, Hey You follows, Steve Mac seemed to have a problem with his guitar? But maybe that was me being picky.

Nobody Home is next, with Ian doing a brilliant job on the vocals, the more I here him the more I think he sound like Roger Waters. The chair, lamp and projections are used to very good effect.

One Of These Days, and Colin kicks us in the chest with the well loved bass line, Skippy is on stage looking rather tatty and looks like he could do with a little Viagra, he's a little slow to inflate. ;D

WYWH, the usual tear jerker, spot-on and again not a dry eye in the house, then it's Bruce's and Sheelah band intros with Rolf playing the keyboards ;D ;D

Comfortably Numb follows, the guitar solo's are nailed by Damian, with the mirror ball now descending from the arena ceiling, PERFECT. ;D

Standing ovation and then Run Like Hell follows as an encore, I managed to blagg a set list after the show ;D

The Aussie have yet again proved that they are the VERY BEST Floyd tribute act on this planet, people are going home very happy. Every time I go to see them they have made improvements, whether it be lighting, sound, projections or playing skills, they make the effort and deserve all the recognition they are getting. They have come along way since I first went to see them back in 1997.

I will have a few photo's uploaded soon for people to enjoy, and looking forward to the NIA on Wednesday ;D ;D

PS I did get the RAH DVD, there was very limited stock, and that was when the doors opened :, it seemed to be selling well, so if you want a copy get in quick to avoid disappointment.

Excellent read..............

Just the job for a Sunday morning when it's raining and thundering outside! In fact it puts me in mind to get the DVD out, which despite owning since Tuesday, I have yet to watch - I think today is the perfect day for it. I am amazed at your comment about there being a limited supply of the DVD's, what in blazes are CMP doing? I fail to understand how they can be getting this wrong?

Anyway, thanks again for the review - a slightly differing style doing the setlist that way, good job.

Indeed Tim, excellent review.
That just leaves me to add that having spoke to Nick, Ian and a few other people I know who were all sat in different areas of the arena agreed that the sound mix was perfect. The new, hi definition, animation for The Wall also added to the experience. I was chatting to a young steward and asked him if he knew anything about this band,"no" he said "I just do this for the wages". He spent most of the show with his jaw on the floor and said afterwards " where the fcuk did that 40 foot pig come from ;D
Yet another triumph by the Aussies and I am tempted to go to the Birmingham gig later this week.
Are we nearly there yet?

What a great show, in spite of the audience needing cardiac massage to bring them to life. The sound was spectacular, the light show amazing and the music was perfect. Did somebody say worldwide phenomenon?

Just one small point, shouldn't you turn your keyboards on before the show starts?  >
