TOPIC: Isle of Wight Festival billing

Isle of Wight Festival billing 4 years ago #1

They just bumped the Aussies to the top of the bill in the big top on Saturday night. It's interesting that the IoW forum is entirely positive about the Aussies appearing, but the GuilFest lot just bang on about being let down because the organisers have booked a tribute band.

Yes but Nick we are adult enough to make allowances for ignorance aren't we ?
Only silly children criticise things that they  know nothing about?

Having had a kicking on the GuilFest forum for my comments in this topic, I should qualify my remarks by saying that some of their members have been entirely supportive of the Aussies appearance. My comments were only directed to those that jumped to the conclusion that tribute bands don't belong as festival headliners without having seen or heard any of their music.

I really don't want to start a forum war!

Im not going to the IOW fest but some of the lads i work with are, they believe the sex pistols are on the main stage the same time AF are on the tent, youngish lads they are more keen to see TSP than AF,im trying to persuade them to see floyd not waste their time on attention seeking prats who cant play or sing and will probably walk off after 3-5 songs, i hope theres enough sensible people at the fest to give AF a decent crowd. and i hope my workmates take my advice.

Thats the point of The Pistols, they are so bad they are good. But for goodness sake the joke is wearing a bit thin now isn't it ?
