A quick one just to say how fantastic tonight was. Honestly, it blew the other Aussie Floyd concerts I've been to away.

Animals was CLASS, despite a slight error with the lyrics.

DSOTM was Excellent.

The Encore was fabulous.

The crowd was completely different from the nobs in the last one [where we were anyway].

Of course that was my experience. How about you?

We were in block B , same seats as a few weeks back.
Tonight was loads better. the sound was much improved in these seats. Sound rig seemed to be configured differently and different areas of the arena were in use than July 4th.

As you say ijob lyrics cockup during animals was a bit of a bummer but there you go.

Now in block A(or was it C??) there did appear to be a bit of a fracas! I didnt actually see what HAPPENED but loads of security did come and sort it out , which i imagine was a bit of a pain for those people sat in that area having the view blocked and being disturbed etc etc.

But on the whole i reckon the crowd was quite quiet if not subdued during the majority of both sets, only livening up towards the end.

Hope everyone enjoyed the show, and the meet ups .
Countdown starts to 2009 Pops now and the hopeful return of the Aussies!!

Oh Yes, Echoes.....brilliant, thanks guys made the night!!!

first time i've come away slightly disappointed, not with the performance I hasten to add but just with the experience. We had reasonable seats at the side right at the end of a row but with a blocked off end so no knobs passing constantly.

However it's a poor do when you can't help be distracted by a team of bouncers and police running around from one incident to the next. I saw a couple of blokes leave early who had obviously taken a beating and one of them looked in a pretty bad way with a lot of blood all down him.

If this was better than the first gig then i'm glad i wasn't there.

On a positive note the performance was top notch as usual and i thought pigs in particular was stunning - Damien was on fire with the end solo! Unfortunately we didn't arrive until 7 so missed out on meeting everyone but did have a quick chat with Gareth and Julie in the break also had a brief hello with HC. Anyway off to bed now, looking forward to reading other peoples thoughts tomorrow.

We were in Block A on the left side [floor] and had many fans [older more mature and appreciative] in front of us which was great.

There was a group who came in 20 mins after Animals had started which filled up about 8 seats behind us and they gabbed and gabbed and laughed and laughed [mostly the WAG-tastic girls]. They were quite pleased they got their tickets for a £10 each [what am I doing wrong].

The kickoff [to my knowledge] was the only thing that was disappointing and I felt took the security by surprise. I'm sure it was awful for people sitting over there [which was nearer the stage, again how are they able to get those tickets so close?]

Damien was at his best and shines out with his talent.

For me and the missus, it was excellent, we came out smiling, talking about it all the way home and then at our house.

Just surfaced from my pit after getting home at 3-30am from Liverpool.

I'll start in time old tradition with the setlist, provided as usual, by Gareth Darlington (it's reproduced exactly as is)

LIVERPOOL

Pigs on the Wing
Dogs
Pigs
Sheep
Pigs on the Wing
Echoes

I have no comment to make about the conduct of significant sections of the crowd except to say that it was unacceptable in my opinion. I can only confirm that after 7 attendances to see TAPFS at the Summer Pops, this was my last.

I would prefer to confine my remarks to more positive aspects of the evening. In that respect I think that the first half last night was perhaps the best 'half' of any aussie floyd gig that I've seen. Animals followed by Echoes was remarkable. I don't care that there may have been the odd imperfection, that's live music for you, the performance was a joy to have witnessed.

That's not to say that I didn't enjoy the second half, I did. I never get tired of hearing Dark Side. It would have been nice if the band could have slotted in Brick 2 as well, but I suppose that's just me being greedy.

It was the usual excellent opportunity to meet and greet some of my forum friends, even if it was brief in the extreme in some cases. I'm also pleased that I got to meet Martin and Kay for the first time. They're all a great bunch.

Mommapink was made up because she got the chance to have me sat next to her during the gig.  ;D  Seriously Deb, thanks for selling me your spare ticket, you make me laugh and you're great company.

Finally, to my own family. Once again there were 3 generations of 'Mikes' at the gig last night. Charley, my granddaughter, was at her 4th APFS. The net has now firmly been cast over her and drawn her in - I think she'll be a Floyd fan for life now!  ;D  I just need to work harder on her 12 year sister and wean her off Girls Aloud!! Thanks for driving last night Keats, and thanks to Stephen for doing so after Pops 1. They both know how to look after the old man.
