Ticketmaster was kind enough to require a "presale password" to buy the tickets online for the Grand Prairie, TX (near Dallas) show. If anyone's wondering, the password is "WALL", but don't hold your breath---even though the general sale doesn't begin until tomorrow, all of the center/decent tickets are GONE. Want to know what happened to them?? Check EBAY! Isn't that some BULLSHIT?!?!?!?!?! >

When I called Ticketmaster, they blamed it on the promoter. By making presale tickets only available by a mysterious password (and then leaking it in various places on the internet), they have effectively encouraged professional scalping and driven up ticket prices illegally BEFORE THEY EVER WENT ON SALE TO THE PUBLIC all in all ensuring that unless we buy their scalped tickets, we don't get decent seats. So what did I do? Well, aside from reporting the "4th row" ticket seller I found on eBay to the Grand Prairie Police Department (and to eBay), I bought some shitty tickets. I would encourage any of you planning to see the Dallas show to do the same before buying from a scalper. Make them pay for their illegal trade by eating the cost!!
If this wasn't the Aussies, I would boycott the show. Instead, I'm sucking it up and sitting in row NN (yes, "double N") way off to the left because they were the best tickets I could get. All the good ones are gone unless you care to pay $239 for them on eBay.
Next time, I would recommend that the Aussies do what Nine Inch Nails did for their recent tour--set up an online presale which requires registration on the website. Then print the ticket holder's name on the tickets, make them "will call only." Require a photo ID to pick them up. Yeah, it's a few extra steps, and yeah, it can be a lengthy process, but it ensures that scalpers don't get all the good tickets. Most scalping takes place on the internet these days, and I've actually seen people arrested for it in front of arenas and stadiums before. They'll be a lot less likely to scalp tickets with their own names on them.
