Hey All,
First time here, first time seeing TAPFS. Wow, what a show!! All my expectations were exceeded. This band is totally professional in every sense of the word, much more so than the usual riffraff Floyd bands that pass through DC. I have wanted to see them since hearing of them in 2006 and I am very glad that I finally got the chance. The highlights for me were seeing the more rare songs from The Wall (i.e Empty Spaces, One of My Turns) done live. Having seen Pink Floyd three times, Roger Waters three times and David Gilmour once, and countless Pink Floyd tribute bands I saw about five songs performed live that I've never seen before which was a real treat, being a Floyd fan for 20 odd years.
My only real complaint was that there was no real vibe or energy coming from the audience for the better part of the show. The crowd was subdued, even for a show in DC, which is a fairly conservative town. This might have been because the show was on a Sunday night, which is never a great night to see a live show, so people weren't going all out like they maybe normally would. Also, this was a seated show. The only time people really stood up were at the end of CN then again at the end of the second set. The crowd was defiantly appreciative, don't get me wrong, but I felt at times the band was just looking for a little more from us. Many people left immediately after the second set, perhaps thinking the show was over or just wanting to get home.
Other than that, the show - the lights, lasers and sound - was absolutely flawless. These guys have rehearsed this show to perfection and anyone who goes to see it is in for a great night. I can't wait to see them again.
