TOPIC: Vegas show just a few hours away + review

Vegas show just a few hours away + review 3 years, 5 months ago #1

Getting pumped. Been anticipating this show for at least a month.  Have family in from Holland looking foward to it as well.  Hopefully the Dutch can maintain themselves for a few hours.  They have been known to get out of hand the last few Aussie shows.  My apologies in advance to anyone behind us   For this reason I obtained ticketss near the back tier 3 row DD.  Will report back in a day or two.  Stay tuned!

Enjoy the show!

My wife and I are in Vegas visiting family.  We saw APF in Atlanta last month

We will be at the show tonight, too.

Bringing family and friends....

Should be a great evening.

This is the 5th Aussie show I've seen and after each one I ask myself "How these guys going to top this next year?"  Once again they did.  From start to finish they blew my mind.  I was wondering if the studio or live version was to be performed and this definitely was the live version (to my delight What Shall We Do Now was squeezed in between ES and YL).  The only switch, if anyone catched it, were the female vocals in place of Gilmour's parts during Mother.  Just like in RW In the Flesh tour.  Having been a bit too young for The Wall shows in LA I'm assuming Ian's performance was mirroring Rogers pretty darn close.  He nailed Waters whiney wailing vocals in Don't Leave Me Know.  Fricking amazing.  I would of sworn either it was pre-recorded audio or that the Man was there himself.  Throw in a bit of Geldof during In The Flesh and I couldn't tell who was up there!

Setlist
The Wall
Learning To Fly
Great Gig
WYWH
Days
Brain Damage
Eclispe

A few of the many highlights...Hey You was great with both Ian and Damian.  Bonney went off during Days.  The girls fantastic during The Trial.  Liked the feedback inserted during Vera.  Crowd took off during Damian's CN solo.  Only a few negatives (sorry but if I didn't post these then this review would be way too gratuitous).  The crowd filed in late, talked during most, and continued to leave during lesser known numbers.  The chairs inside the Joint are crammed tight bound by plastic ties with about 2 feat in between each row.  Someone gets up and guess what....everyone in that row has to stand to accomodate.  Audio seemed a bit turned down during 1st half.  Few people around me mentioned the same but this was adjusted after intermission.  No inflatables (due to size restraints of stage) and the visuals on screen kept getting whitewashed or faded due to the lighting.  Was the lighting a bit scaled back due to size of venue?  Maybe a little.  The Hard Rock must be paying the Boys well because they could easily sell a 5,000 seat venue.  Probaly a nice break as well so the crew has more time rigging the next show.  Minor things here folks.  This was a fantastic show and once again I walked out asking myself "How are these guys to top this next year?"

Hi, I just stumbled onto this site today and this is my first post!  The reason I found myself here is the fact that I google-searched for a band review seeing as how I caught my very first Australian Pink Floyd Show gig last night at the Hard Rock in Vegas!

I must say that I was extremely pleasantly surprised at the talent that these guys show!  I am a huge fan of Pink Floyd and I never really saw myself attending a tribute show.  But I saw they were going to be in town and I've heard nothing but good things about them, so I decided to take a vacation day from work and attend the show.

This might have been the best "bang for the buck" that I've ever gotten out of a concert in my life!  What a great job!!  The Wall recreation was fantastic!  As the previous poster mentioned, the only drawback to the whole concert was the fact that the crowd seemed a tad noisy and inconsiderate.  Is this something that happens at a lot of their shows or is it only a Vegas thing?  It made me think that some of the morons in the audience were the types of people that caused Roger and Pink Floyd to create the Wall in the first place.  A bit ironic!

Once again, a great job by the band!  If they ever happen to be back in Vegas, I'll definitely give them my business again!!
