I have seen TAPFS twice, in 2007 and 2008 in Washington, DC. The show is amazing. However, I guess I was spoiled by the venues.
My wife treated me to a trip to Las Vegas to see TAPFS at the Hard Rock. While the band was amazing, the crowd and venue were TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE.
They had so many chairs packed in to such a tiny area that it was literally dangerous. This problem was worsened by the alcohol consumption in the room. There were people so drunk in our section that they were literally falling over onto the people around them. We watched well over 30 people leave purely from the drunks in our section. By the end of the performance, it was me and 10 mega-drunks left in our whole section. My wife and friends bailed out just after The Wall was finished.
Furthermore, the stage was small. I can only assume that the light show is smaller as a result.
To those that book these venues.
1. Please, please return to the Strathmore in Bethesda, MD next year. It is an amazing venue with a large stage. I saw the show here in 2007 and I would happily pay twice the ticket price to see TAPFS at this location.
2. Please do not ever book at the Hard Rock in Vegas again. There has to be a nicer venue in Las Vegas.
