Just back from seeing TAPFS at the Alhambra in Dunfermline.

First time seeing the band for me but a few friends have seen them before; I have to admit I was sceptical but no longer.

Wow.  What a band.  Preaching to the converted here I suspect, but they're one fantastic group of musicians.  Every single one of them is top notch so I ain't going to single any one of them out.

When I bought the ticket I thought £24.50 was a bit steep for what I thought was just a tribute band but how wrong was I!  In hindsight I'd happily have paid twice that for such an outstanding show.

The set list was
The Wall, with 15 min break between the two acts

then an encore set of

Shine On You Crazy Diamond
The Great Gig In The Sky
Wish You Were Here
One Of These Days
Brain Damage
Eclipse

Almost 3 hours in total.

The Wall isn't the cheeriest of material but it is helluva powerful stuff, and at times these guys moved it from being a rock band performance to something more theatrical, almost like a West End show.  Not in a bad way though, the emotion and the dynamics and the spirit of these supremely talented musicians shone through.

And the encores, well One Of These Days was staggeringly good.  The rest were just fantastic!

I'm tempted now to see about getting tickets to see them again soon, I don't know if I can wait a year or two to see them again!

Yet another convert

Really glad you enjoyed the show, parsfan and thanks for the review.

I remember the first time I went to see TAPFS at Market Harborough leisure centre and thinking exactly the same as you, tribute band = phish,  we only paid a fiver (I think) back then, they had no lasers and sparse lighting but the quality on the music played was outstanding.  Needless to say I have been to see them since many times and every time they get better, they are SIMPLY THE BEST Floyd tribute act out there

Bob, we all know the lurkers are out there and more reviews would be welcome, maybe we could have a TAPFS show review section, Nick ??
