Well I've just returned from a fantastic holiday in Florida, one evening I went out to do some shopping and wandered into a liquor store. Apart from the assistant I was the only person in there, as I was browsing around the bloke calls out to me "Hey man that's an awesome band there".

Now I was wearing my Aussie "Dark side" tour shirt from about 3 years back and naturally my instinct was that he was referring to Pink Floyd, but no, he meant the Aussies of course !

It turns out that although he hadn't seem them in person he had seen a show on PBS and was very impressed. Anyway we had a chat for about 10 mins or so and I encouraged him to catch them next time they were in the area (I think they usually go to Tampa).

So as Bob would say, they're a worldwide phenomenon !

I was in Florida in November 2006 and was due to go back in October 2008.  What can I say, the family loved the place the first time round so we decided to try to go again.  :

You'll have noted the words, "Was due to go back...".  Well when XL airlines went belly up, so did our holiday!! 

Anyway, what I was going to say was that on both occasions, TAPFS were due to be in Florida whilst we were there.  Was I ever tempted to try to buy tickets!!  It just fell into the too difficult to organise box.  :-\

I am guessing they have quite a big following in that part of the world.  Well I daresay they have more than their fair share of wrinklies!!

Ian Congrats to you both and glad you had great honeymoon in FLorida...One of our favourite places to visit . The Aussies have done several gigs in Florida over the past few years  including Orlando, Clearwater (Tampa) twice ,Miami, and Fort Myers in 2007 so they are poular in the sunshine state. Unfortunately our holiday finished 2 days before they arrived in Florida so still waiting  to see them at a venue other than Dublin....hopefully later this year will rectify this
