My fourth 'Wall' show this year and first time at The Anvil, which is a small auditorium but has a great feeling to it.
I had a good seat but unfortunately there were 2 drunken a***holes in the seat directly behind mine! As the house lights went down, one of them shouted to the band at the top of his voice 'wanker'. That's nice I thought so had to move! There was an empty seat at the end of my row, so I moved there, but this lasted 3 songs before it's occupant arrived! (it was pretty much a sold out show). So I thought I was doomed as the usher came over and I told him my reason for moving seats. He said, 'Don't worry and don't tell the boss' He then showed me to a row of around 6 seats directly behind the mixing desk that were marked Reserved - sweet, what a great spot and I could chat to Gareth as well ;D
So the show:- the stage was just the right size to fit the band in, but that was just about it, no room for anything else, no props inflatables etc and we had no lasers, just the big screen and sufficient lights to create the right atmosphere.

A great performance by the band and it was very interesting getting the chance to watch Gareth working the mixing console (which I think was a Yamaha PM5D), as it's something that fascinates me, so I was great to have the chance.
Despite this being the forth Wall this year, it was actually one of the most enjoyable. I was at first a little disappointed it was another Wall, as when I booked the ticket I thought it was going to be a 'best of' show. But you know what, without the props, lasers and everything else that a full Wall show has, this was great. Just the band on stage, all dressed in black with nothing fancy, just them doing what they do best, playing stonking good Floyd.
I loved it and thanks again to all those that make this one of the best live acts you can see today and no matter how many times I hear Damian play Comfy, I never tire of it. A fantastic one again this night which was rewarded by an appreciative standing ovation.
