Ok. Just walked through the door after seeing the show. It was another incredible show. There were no lasers. also no inflatables but due to the small stage they have never had the inflatables at the Paramount Theater. While they didnt have lasers they did have an excellent light show with lots of strobe and pulsating lights. When they played Run Like Hell as in the past while reving his guitar Damien was bathed in strobe lights as in the past shows. For me, one of the greatest moments in rock for me has been watching the beginning riffs of Run Like Hell with the Stobes going off. Yes the lasers add to the experience but the music and light show going on is soincredible, and the crowd so into the show you dont miss them. It would be nice to have them though. why take out a standard Pink Floyd effect? The computer animated graphics projected onto the screen were much more varied and better than in previous years. There were lots of kalidescope type colored images, standard pink floyd tour footage and other visuals to keep it amusing and interesting. It is a little bit distracting from the music but its part of the show. Aussie Floyd still barrages your senses with a complete multisensory experience. I went with my two sons aged 20 and 13. The 20 year old thought it was their best visual show and hes seen them 4 times also and god knows what hes doing at his college, so if it worked for him that says something. As for music Ians vocals were incredible. He did sound better than ever. nailing everything from Sheep to the Wall. The girls brought the house down with Great Gig in the Sky. The show really did blow me away again. They played the standard setlist with lots of old and new. I prefer the allbum approach as in previous tours over jumping from one hit to another but it was fine. It was tough not hearing the typical album sequence since with Floyd you usually play the whole album when you listen to it. It was a little jumpy going from one of these days, which was mind blowing, to Hey You. My ears were still ringing from that screeching incredible solo. There were lots of new faces in the band. The keyboard player was great as was the bass player. sax and drummer. I missed the old faces but time keeps on ticking for us all. Truthfully, the laser thing is a non issue. Dont worry about not getting the whole experience. You are going to love it, The place was packed and the house was going crazy. Get yourselves excited about another mind blowing trip.. Let me know what you think!!!
