TOPIC: Pittsburgh show, Monday

Pittsburgh show, Monday 2 years, 7 months ago #1

I'm still a little groggy from the show last night, but what a show! This was the first time That I've seen TAPFS and it didn't disappoint. I was in the 14th row and they sounded great. sorry I don't have any pics. My favorite part of the show is when they did "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun". Very unexpected, and most of the audience had no idea what the song was. I saw some other posts that said they were leaving out "Money" from the set list, but they did it last night. The mirror ball was there, but no lazers, no big deal, the light show was great. I saw Pink Floyd at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena when they did the Dark Side of the Moon tour and nothing will ever compare with that show. After all, they opened the roof during the show! But last nights show was great in it's own right, and it brought back a lot of memories.  ;D

Welcome redstrat... glad that you enjoyed the show!

redstrat123,

I was also at the show last night.  These guys continue to blow me away.

Just a couple of observations from last night (comparing to other reviews posted).  No lasers at this show, but they did have 2 inflatables (giant pig with glowing red eyes) that was set up on Bobby Hamilton's side of the stage, and the giant kangaroo on Rob Stringer's side.  There was one minor technical difficulty when Damian couldn't get any sound from his acoustic guitar at the beginning of "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun".  He had to abandon the acoustic and switch to his electric after failed attempts with his guitar tech to get the acoustic going.

Being in the second row center, I have a whole new appreciation for all of the musicianship that goes into one of their shows.  I never realized how "busy" both Damian and Bobby were during "On the Run".  I was also very impressed with the timing between those two during the solo for "Money"

My only regret is that I didn't get tickets for both nights.

I hear you there Mr Beazer, wish now I was going tonight too. Instead I'm going to watch the DVD.
