TOPIC: Dublin gig Wed 28th April

Dublin gig Wed 28th April 2 years ago #1

Morning all just in from the Dublin gig and not ready for the bed yet as adrenalin is still high.We got everything in Dublin , walkers, wanderers, staggerers and a few hipshakers...one lady in particular in the second row right in the centre was at it for almost the entire second part of the show. Fortunately she was quite short so don't think she impeded peoples view too much. Anyway nothing could detract from a superb nights entertainment. Set list I think the same as Belfast except we did get Eugene and his axe. Without doubt this was the best I have seen them in the past 6 years...The Dublin O2 is so much better than the Point which it replaced. Sound is brilliant and a wider stage makes it easier to see all the performers. Really can't single out any of them as apart from the odd dropped note everything was perfect
Had 2 of my bros who were with me last year and a newbie brother in law in tow. The two bros thought it was way better than last year and the bil was totally astounded that a "tribute" band could put on such a show. Highlights for me was seeing and hearing some new material. Definitely the first time i've seen them perform welcome to the machine, careful with that axe eugene and gunners dream...all superb additions

Only 2 things on the downside...crowd nos well down on previous years. god damn recession.
Where's Skippy? .....only 1 inflatable ie the pig

That's about it for now...still not ready for the bed so off to watch the recorded champions league semi.....don't tell me who won

Kevin

I agree with Kevin this was their best gig in Dublin in the last six years. With the wider stage I was hoping to get a nice view of Paul on drums unfortunately not to be as he tucked away in the corner in darkness :'(There was 4 blokes well dopes in front of us who did their best to ruin our night, we asked them to stop the carry on a few times they finally got the message as i don't think they fancied hospital food for breakfast. The eight of us had a great time and look forward to next year and maybe we might even get a gig that's on the weekend. A big thumbs up to the pub that we were in cant remember the name of it it was across for the financial center they gave a free pint if you had a ticket for the gig and had a courtesy bus that brought us right up to the 02.

Agree with all the comments above. An excellent performance from the band. The crowd was well down on last year, but the performance definitely wasn't. Particular highlights include Careful with that Axe Eugene and Gunners Dream.

I too hope that the band play Dublin on a Saturday next year. I'm missing our weekend trips over for the gig and look forward to seeing/ hearing what the new O2 is like.
Thank you for expressing your thoughts on the gig gentlemen
