Keats and I are leaving in 30 minutes for our journey to the BIC. We're meeting Stephen and Charley there. I spoke to Charley last night and she was already bubbling over with excitement - goodness knows what she'll be like by kick off at 8 tonight!!

So, it was the ' Eugene' version of the set list for the last two gigs at Manchester and Leicester. A good chance of getting Set The Controls and Fletcher tonight then I reckon?

A friend of mine (Steve), went to the Bournemouth gig - his first time seeing TAPFS. He kept us updated on facebook, here are some of the comments:

"Steve is off to the BIC to see the Aussie Pink Floyd tonight. Pink flying kangaroo anyone?????"

Malcolm : "Steve... I am extremely jealous!!
Don't forget, if you close your eyes, the only way you can tell it's not Floyd is that they're better musicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Intermission time and it's one of the best shows I have ever been to! Photos don't do it justice."

"What an amazing night! Fantastic music and light show. It's almost an insult to call them a tribute band, they blew many front line 'star acts' into the water with their show."

I'm guessing he'll be back to see them again..

What a totally brilliant gig ... not that I was expecting anything else of course !! My annual Aussies fix definitely went down an absolute treat as per usual even if the almost 20 mins wait for a nasty pint of Carlsberg at the interval didn't ! Must say that I would quite obviously have preferred Careful With That Axe in addition to (rather than potentially instead of) Fletcher but then again I would also have very much liked the entire 20(ish) mins of Dogs to have been sneaked in as well ... not that I'm in any way greedy and given even the merest hint of opportunity would have wanted a several hour performance featuring just about everything in the Floyd back-catalogue of course

It never ceases to amaze me that the show is not only different but still gets better and better each year. Really loved the Skippy grabbing Ye Olde Vinyls animation and the obvious cheers from all round when each were picked out. Good to see Ian C doing some of his theatrical stuff again as well.  Feel really sorry for anyone who didn't get to see the full monty last year due to whatever issues there were that apparently prevented the later Wall gigs being quite the same as the early ones. I can't help feeling that there has to be limit eventually though where one day I'm gonna feel, yeah that was great but it wasn't quite one notch higher than last year.  Not happened so far in well over 10 years mind you so I'm pretty sure they will continue to pull something shiny and new out of the bag until well beyond the point that it actually matters as I'll be long gone !

Roll on April/May 2011 I say  ;D

Sorry to throw a dampner here, but that time came for me last night.  In fact it dropped back a notch IMHO.  The guys seemed tired, it just didn't hang together like it should, the sound seemed compressed/unclear.  Damian still shone (like a crazy diamond?  Oh how they laughed... not :).  Seriously, he was brilliant and when he was doing his solo stints, I got back into the groove, but for me those periods didn't last.

I was behind the sound desk, so I should have had the best acoustics available BTW and I do think the sound set up was partly to blame.  That sublime clarity was just missing last night.

It was not bad, it very good, but they have over the years set the bar so very high, and for me last night it didn't get there.

I've seen a number of bands never reach the level of audio visual effect that they acheived last night, but that's another story.

Shoot me if you like, but that's my half penny for what its worth.  Its just an opinion, its not a fact!
