A rather unexpected visit to my favourite tribute band last week. My girlfriend and I went on holiday and due to some personal stuff we had to stay not too far away from home. So as we were driving to the town of Leuven, Belgium, I saw "Tienen" posted on a motorway sign. After a few minutes it finally rang a bell, Aussiefloyd was playing there tonight! My girlfriend had never seen them before and she was curious what it was like. She was like: "If you go all the way to Poland to see a tribute band it must be something!". They played at the Suikerrock Festival in downtown Tienen, a lovely old city with a large market square where the main stage was at. We arrived just in time to see the Golden Earring take the stage. One of the world's oldest rock bands (founded in 1961) definitely are worth a visit. After that the Aussies took the stage. I've seen them once before on a festival and that wasn't a good show so I was curious how they would do it this time.

The set was a greatest hits one and quite short, only 75 minutes. They played really good and the sound quality was one of the best I've heard on a festival.
Some new video material during Shine On, the album cover of A Momentary Lapse Of Reason featured during the first guitar solo and a scene in an alley with a guy with a hoodie during the organ solo. It all fitted very well.

No mirrorball during Comfy, and I was very pleased with that. They used the same effect as I've seen in Katowice, the whole stage covered in smoke and Damian lighted in yellow. After that the used lights to imitate the mirrorball, I can't really explain it but it looks very nice.

So a good night out, and my girlfriend enjoyed it too!

Setlist
Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
Learning To Fly

Comfortably Numb

Run Like Hell

Hi Rik I checked out some of the videos on youtube, pretty amazing festival. John Fogerty, ZZ TOP, Golden Earring, Ray and Robbie from The Doors and of coarse TAPFS. Just wondering who was the headliner/last to play? And the acts like above how much were tickets?

You are so fortunate to see that line up. We in the States no longer get Steve, Colin, Jason or Paul. It's just not the same any more. I used to catch 6 -8 shows every tour but now I might do about half of that. Unless of course the original line up decides to come back. It's now a tribute band of a tribute band over here.

TAPFS was the headliner on the last night of the festival, I think it lasted 7 days.. And wow it was cheap! Only € 25 for 1 day! That's not even half of the fee for a regular Aussies show!

Well now we might see Steve, Colin and Jason with The New Aussie Floyd Show, according to CMP's announcement. Hope they are in the lineup when they do the fall North America tour.
