Hi All

Had a really good night last night, Pynk Floid, yet another Floyd tribute band and well worth the ?5 ticket price.

The venue that they played in (The Diamond) was very small, max of 300 people, with only a guess of 100 people attending the show.

Pynk Floid kicked off around 9.15, with Empty Spaces/Young Lust

I did not make a note of the set list, but the tracks that stood out most(in no order) were Sheep, Pigs(three different ones), Money, Gunners Dream(this was fantastic), Sorrow, Wish You Were Here, Shine On(pt 1), Another Brick In The Wall (pt2), Us And Them.

All in all around two and a half hours live music for a fiver ;D, if I was to be critical then I would say the the keyboard player could be better, some of his timing left a little to be desired, the lead guitarist could be a little more polished as well. NO sax player so 'keyboard sax' was used to some ill effects. :  A few cock ups here and there but at least you know its live. The band has been going around a year so plenty of time to clean things up a little.

We got chatting to a couple of the band members and they said that the venue was so small that they were using only 20% of there equipment and that the lights and sound are better in a bigger venue, although I could not fault the sound quality.

I took a few photos, some turned out OK but the lack of decent lighting means some are blurred. Click the link to view them.

I was not too fussed with the venue, it was too small and in a very rough area with hoodies hanging around the place, I had to park the car somewhere, the venues parking was not lit at all and a very dark place, I did park on the main street but the hoodies hanging around there put me off. After moving on we found a free car park with CCTV and lights, I'm always VERY aware of where I park, what with driving a very targetable car(Subaru Impreza) and have ?2500 worth of high end audio in it, I was a little worried although the car is well secured with Cat 1 Alarms and Immobilisers.  The car was stood on the car park on it own upon our return at around midnight, thankfully untouched.

You drive a Scooby Doo?

How can anyone take you seriously now?
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

Diane

We are indeed playing the Moses Gate in Bolton on Saturday 10 February and I'm pleased to say that it will be the debut appearance of our new Vocalist/Rhythm Guitarist Mark Burden who joined us recently. Quite a coincidence as the Moses Gate was the venues for the BAND'S debut gig back in 2005!!

Should be a good 'un.
