It's taken me nearly 2 weeks to get around to this, but here we go.
Went to see Think Floyd at the City Varieties in Leeds on 9th November, for any of you not familiar with the venue it was where "The Good Old Days" was filmed for the BBC - it's an old Victorian Music Hall. The venue is quite long and narrow and as a result the stage is quite small. We secured seats in the 3rd row so had a pretty good view.
Looking at the pics on their website, TF appear to normally have a light show but with the stage being so small there's not really room for one unfortunately. Well I suppose you could call a strobe, smoke machine and a couple of coloured spots a token gesture.
The band is a traditional Floyd 4-piece with the addition of Hayley Sanderson (phwwoooooar) who doubles as backing singer and on Sax. All 4 guys were absolutely top-notch musicians especially the guys on bass and guitar who were note perfect. My mate fell in love at the first sight of Hayley and was reaching for the tissues when he realised she played Sax on Money "...f**king hell, she plays sax as well !!". He tells me he's gonna marry her next year - although she doesn't know it yet.
Set List - (this is from memory and I know I've missed a couple)
1st Half:
DSOTM (Entire album)
Summer '68
Lucifer Sam

???
Run Like Hell
2nd Half:
WYWH (Entire album)

Sheep
Comfy
I enjoyed hearing both albums in their entirety, both were played very faithfully to the originals with a couple of minor exceptions but very well none-the-less.
If I did have some criticisms they would be:
Hayley wasn't turned up enough on Great Gig - she has a superb voice but sadly the mix was wrong
Lack of light show
One of the singers isn't the strongest
Overall a great gig and well worth the ?14
