It was the first time I've seen Off The Wall. A 6 member band with a slightly different way of presenting themselves. The main vocalist is also the keyboard player and he adopts the Steve Mac position - centre and front of stage. He is flanked on either side by a lead guitarist/vocalist, a female guitarist/acoustic guitarist/vocalist and a bass player, with a drummer behind those 4. The 6th member is also to the rear and he plays saxophone and percussion.

They definitely are not in the style of other floyd tribute bands that I've seen, or Pink Floyd themselves come to that, who all tend to be fairly static on stage and just concentrate on playing the music. Off The Wall are much more demonstative with the saxophonist, for example, wandering about all over the stage and setting up little duos of 'jamming' with other members of the band. Even the female guitarist got into the act, stepping forward every now and again to 'react' with sections of the audience who were standing close to the stage.

It was a little strange hearing a lady sing Have a Cigar. She gave a credible rendition of Great Gig however and she played the slide guitar very well. They played Wish You Were Here with 1 'electric' guitar and 1 acoustic guitar and the second guitar solo in Comfy was played by the saxophonist.

It was a very enjoyable evening though, Folkestone is a standing venue for this type of gig and I prefer that. I would compare Off The Wall similarly with Think Floyd, although their styles are quite different. I will go and see them again because, like Think Floyd, they give an honest performance at a very reasonable ticket price and it is, after all, an opportunity to hear the music of Pink Floyd played live.

A very fair description of 'Off The Wall'. I've seen them a few times and enjoyed the show each time. As you say they like to do their own thing but there's nothing wrong with that.
Are we nearly there yet?

I agree, a fair discription of Off the Wall - however, surely if you go & see a Pink Floyd tribute band you wanna hear the music as Pink Floyd meant it to be - The Aussies of course do this very well and I've seen Think Floyd a few times & they mainly sound pretty close to the originals which personally I prefer.
Pink Fraud go to all the effort of having all the vintage gear too which is great.

Hi there Floyd Knut - welcome to the forum.

I see from your profile that you're a SE England resident. Are you going to the Rochester Castle gig in July?

Hi, thanks for the welcome - will be going to Brighton & the Albert Hall, not sure about Rochester, I like to check out the other tribute bands too - normally try and get to a couple of each of the bands gigs each tour - will be seeing Think Floyd at Crawley next week and will prob check out the NPF thing in August, will keep an eye on the Forums to see if anyone writes anything about Off The Wall to make we wanna see them again - its unlikely!

Sorry Mike, although I enjoyed the detail of your review you haven't sold the band to me.
I have a feeling that I would find their presentation style rather irritating.
