Has anyone seen this?

I think I'll give them a view come October!

Mmmm.

My only problem with this lot is that it is widely recognised and reported  that they actually take work away from some of the hard working LIVE tribute acts who are unable to secure dates in theatres who have already bokked the Laser Show and, as far as they are concerned, have booked a "tribute". ??? ???

We'll all we automated out of a job at this rate!!  :-\ :-

Hmmm,

Hard call on this one. I'm sure it would be something very interesting to see and experience but unfortunately I tend to lean towards basicinstict's comments. As the producer of the All In All tribute I have run up against this show or a similar show and lost venue opportunities because of it. I can toss back a few pints, light a candle and recline to the floor and visualize just about anything whilst listening to Floyd but nothing and I mean nothing has ever surpassed the actual live shows I was fortunate enough to attend. If Dan brought W1P to Vancouver and this show was playing at the same time I would buy Dan's ticket.  Laser lights aside, Floyd is live music and that would always be my first choice. So mikinik, I know that you have been to many a tribute show so maybe you should go and give us all a comparative view on live Vs. laser.

Now if I could just get my damn computer to play my guitar and sing for me I just might have a different outlook on this.

Cheers all,

Dan (one of the other one's)

Hello Dan! There is nothing to compare with live music....nothing. Esspecially live Floyd music. So, if I go, it will be for only the entertainment value, cause I just couldn't compare it to All in All, it's Just, or W1P, or the Aussies. I once saw the Stones in an I Max theater and it was the best 1 1/2hrs laugh I have had for a while. It was a lot of fun. But those tickets were regular I Max prices...$12.00 or so. This Floyd laser one is $34.00 or so, and it's a bit pricey. I'm in between whether to go or not.

gee, laser shows have come a long way ;D  My last one was DSOTM at the Griffith Observtory In LA back in 84.  $7.50  a ticket every Thursday  I thought was amazing!

Don't think this would really appeal to me - I guess I may give it a look if it was in my home town and I had nothing else to do, but something about just doesn't seem right? I think if I had never seen Floyd or didn't have the opportunity of seeing bands like TAPFS, then I may be more receptive to this concept, but it just seems a little contrived to me. I would be interested to hear your views if you do go Bob?

Nothing beats a live band.
