Having expended some considerable effort slagging off UNT, here's one that I think is worthy of our support. Pig Floyd aren't the Aussies and they've a way to go before they are, but you can hire them for ?1,000 and more than any Floyd tribute I've heard for a while, they've worked out that getting in the Floyd zone is more than just playing the notes in the right order. Some nice vocals too. A good night out, methinks.

It's a good point that Nick alludes to. There are some very acceptable, unpretentious bands around. Think Floyd are one. Their version of The Wall is certainly worth seeing in my opinion. Off The Wall are also worth the ticket price. Somewhat different in their stage persona but a good night out none the less. Just Floyd are on my must see list for some time this year. I've had a couple of near misses, when either them or me have had to cancel at the last minute, but I will make the effort, maybe this Autumn.

However, you musn't go with making a comparison to The Aussies in mind, if you do you will be disappointed. But for around ?15 a ticket and the price of a pint it's not a bad way to spend an evening.

Sounds like a plan. Do they play 'oop North'?

I think Just Floyd are essentially a SE England band, although I think they are doing a gig in Wales soon. Hippie is the one to ask as she has seen them quite often I think. If you pick this post up Sue, maybe you can let us all know.
