There is not much else to say, both bands have outstanding musicians, the set list were interesting with some songs only true fans would play and enjoy and the rest of the material was well, prefect. The restaurant at the HOB is not too bad at all, more that decent burger and salads and they have a bunch of other options too. Cutty Sark was the well and over ice was $10 and increased dramatically in portion with each order. It nice to be able to just slip right into the venue and not stand in line. The sell stools to sit at – don’t know how much one of my friends picked up the tab.
The acoustics were actually quite good – the gal that did great gig totally maxed out the microphone, they need a new stick for her but other than that it was outstanding – I was totally impressed & blown away and I am a hard sell. The have a ton of fun on stage and this translates to something very special, it really reminded me of seeing PF years ago when they were young and delivered an amazing raw feeling to the sets – the place was packed and everyone was having an excellent time.
More people seemed to come in for the zep band and they were also amazing, the entire evening really worked for me and without continuing to sound like a shill for the bands I would just say that if you are ever in the LA area you should treat yourself to a very special show – I know I will be going from now on. I can’t think of another thing to do to go from 52 to 20 years old in < 10 seconds!
