Limehouse are a great band, seen them many times.
One of their guitarists, Greg, was guitar tech for Lizzy's Brian Robertson from the glory days, he therefore knows how this stuff should sound and boy he does a good job of playing it! The drummer is absolutely brilliant too, especially his 'Sha La La' solo'
I have not seen them with their new 2nd guitarist, looking forward to that in Norwich in November. Wayne playing bass and being 'Phil Lynott' is absolutely mesmorising. His bass playing is sublime and he seems to be able to hold an audience just as Phil did. The interaction with the crowd and getting everyone going is brilliant, a guaranteed party! Wait for the second set though, they really rock.
I saw the original Lizzy with the Lynott, Downey, Robertson, Gorham line up 4 or 5 times, these create just as much excitement - a MUST see.
We know the Aussies are the next best thing to Floyd, close your eyes and you are there. Limehouse do the same to re-create Lizzy.
A nice touch, they always hang around after the gig in the hall to chat to theirs and the Lizzy fans, fascinating how they are so much into the music despite playing it night after night. Unfortunately I'll miss them Thusday when they headline the first night of the Cambridge Festival due to work deadlines but roll on November!
