Well, this morning I booked my ticket for the ExCel gig on lastminute.com, and they just sent me this order confirmation:

Good for you. You're not messing around at the Retail Park, doing DIY or clearing out the loft. You've grabbed hold of the moment, given it a vigorous shake and now you'll wake up tomorrow excited.

Because as well as ticking something off your list of things to do, tomorrow's now free to do something else. Like bungee jumping into a pool of sharks.

Need more info on your order?

If you've got any questions about your order, check out www.lastminute.com/faq - a handy one-stop shop where you can speak to our indecently handsome customer services team.

You can also use your purchase history to follow your booking's smooth progress, forward this confirmation to your mobile, re-send this email and probably get a new kitchen sink as well.

How was it for you?

Do you love us? Do you hate us? Would you like to stroke our hair?
Rate our lovely little website and help us to make things better for you in the future. It's what we live for.

What?
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

Well it's much nicer than the confirmation I got from Ticketba'tards who simply said they'd taken my money, thank you very much, and in exchange for an extortionate booking fee, they take no responsibility for anything, ever, but should I have any queries I can either browse the pre-answered questions on their website or call their Senior Customer Service Executive in New Delhi, who will assist me as soon as they are free - except I can't.

Because after pushing option #2, then #4, then #1, then ##, I'm told that the office is now closed, and that I should call back between 3am and 4 am every other Sunday. Good job their "answering service does not accept messages".

Nevermind, at least they value my custom, and to prove it, they will plague me to my grave via email, post, telephone and text with inane sh'te from carefully selected retail partners.

So, you want a beer or what??

The quickest way to get through to a real person on an automated system is to deliberately choose options they don't have, that way after 2 or 3 "I'm sorry your choice is not recognised"'s they say "hold the line we are putting you through to a representative".

Always works for me, I never sit in an auto queue  ;D

Or don't press anything at all. That works too.
