PINK FLOYD DOMINATE THE SALES CHARTS

Pink Floyd's PULSE DVD
We recently reported on how the release of Pink Floyd's PULSE on DVD, along with tours from David Gilmour (with Richard Wright), and Roger Waters (at some shows, with Nick Mason) has resulted in dramatic sales figures worldwide. We know many of you are fascinated with this sort of detail, and we have some more sales figures from other countries showing the Floyd's domination of record stores!

We have had it confirmed from the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) charts company in Sydney that the PULSE DVD had the biggest first week of sales for a music DVD in the history of the Australian music DVD charts, which has been running since 2001.

The previous best first week was 'Hell Freezes Over' which actually debuted at #2 there, and has the most weeks at #1 for a music DVD there, being at #1 for a total of 24 unconsecutive weeks at various times on and off over the last 3 or 4 years. PULSE is chasing this DVD for most overall sales in Australian music DVD history. 'Up In Smoke' debuted at #17 here, and had 20 straight weeks at #1, which is the record PULSE is chasing here for consecutive weeks at #1.

In it's first week in Australia, it went triple platinum (45,000 units plus).

Moving now to Finland, sales are just as strong there, with the DVD being at the number one spot with no sign of budging, for three weeks.

Going back south again, Italy has no less than THIRTEEN of the Floyd's albums in the charts, ranging from Dark Side Of The Moon at number 8, through to Relics at number 76. In the DVD charts, PULSE is dominating, of course, but is followed by The Wall at number three, and Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii in fourth place at the top of the sales figures. Astonishing figures!
Nick<br>Recently, the ghost of Ho Chi Minh was seen wandering the streets of downtown Saigon, and he was wearing a Pink Floyd t-shirt.
