Did the masses not realise that we (us lot in here) already knew who was number one?

Thanks for the info Kev really, much appreciated.

Perhaps we should have a discussion about which is the best version. We haven't done that before.

We must have done somewhere ....
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

that is nice to know that! yippee! yes i agree its the most famous and well known for its greatness, but on the other hand i do not feel its the best gilmour has ever wrote. Gilmours High Hopes solo (on the lap steel) has i believe a lot more feeling than comfortably numb as well as a lot more technicality when playing. But aswell the live versions of CN have to be taken into account, the pulse version is phenomenal, but i stand by High Hopes...

Im prepared for a good beating now haha

If I was to pick one it is CN with no hesitation. But like you Jon, there are many others I like and are brilliant. Like HH solo and also Marooned and many others. The writing and playing on these last two Floyd albums IMHO is breathtaking. I like the PULSE version of CN the best and I like Damians version just as much as DG's.
