Thanks to an exceptional friend, I was lucky enough to go to Abbey Road on Tuesday to see David, Rick and Co record several songs in studio 1 for a new Channel 4 Series, Live At Abbey Road.  This is to be screened in November.

This amazing session lasted for just over three hours and not only did I get to meet the whole band except Rick, who seemed a little shy, but my friend and I got our pics taken with David and Stevie D gave us a drumstick each.  I also got my OAI CD signed by all except Rick.  Bugger, you all know how much I love that man!

We were sat on the balcony overlooking the studio and Jon Carin, Stevie D and Guy kept popping by and stopped to chat to us for a bit.  Jon Carin is charming and absolutely gorgeous; I wanted to take him home  ;D

We got 4 takes of OAI, 3 of The Blue, 3 of Take A Breath, 3 of Astronomy Domine, 2 of Smile which they stuffed up and Echoes with David doing an acoustic take on it.  David also started strumming the Stones, Play With Fire and the rest of the band joined in.

Needless to say, I was in my element!  ;D

Ok, now I'm jealous

I suppose you think we're going to be impressed by that, huh?

Well it was the icing on the cake for me this year  ;D

It was the second best event after going to Hyde Park with Ben and Larry  ;D

Sue from now on I'm going to tell everyone that I have met you and consider you as a close friend. That must have been a wonderful experience and I know what you mean about the Rick thing. It was meant to be but when you do meet him again and he is the charming and pleasant chap you know he really is your life will be complete. Well done Sue and thanks for sharing that fantastic experience with us all.

It hasn't quite sunk in yet Phil ... I'm still pinching myself.  I couldn't stop shaking when David walked up the stairs and said hello.  That man certainly has a presence.  I find situations like that extremely nerve wracking, yet I can stand in front of a classroom full of people and waffle on for hours quite unperturbed.

I did think of you all and sent Ben a message on the way there. Would have been great if some of you could have been there.

I had to sneak out of work in the morning as it was the first day back after the summer holidays  ;D
