Tower records is going out of business so they have a bunch of albums at 40% off.....so I had to get "Piper" for a real cheap price...as luck would have it they had an import of Rick Wright's Broken China for 50% off...I got it for $7.....
anyways back to "piper"......I have listen through it 4 or 5 times, and it has taken awhile to get use to compared to the other Floyd albums I have. The first 3 songs I love...."Flaming" seems a little bit average, but I do like "pow r" which had a real unique feel to it...but it just sounds so damn interesting....same thing with Roger's song on here...Interstellar is really cool...nice little long jam with some cool freak out parts....the rest of the album is ok. Bike is cool....kind of weird....anyways, there are some cool songs on here, and I do like it but it probably wont be one of my favs in the long run....it was finally cool to hear the Syd songs.....I say it would take a special person to claim those as his favorite floyd songs, although I do love "astronomy"
I am going to try and wait till xmas to get any more floyd albums....next will be the wall or the final cut....
