TOPIC: my 8th Floyd studio album.....Dark Side of the Moon

my 8th Floyd studio album.....Dark Side of the Moon 5 years, 5 months ago #1

i wanted to make this my last studio album purchase but it was given to me as an xmas present....not much to say about it as its a classic, probably their best studio album, and just a great album....I was comparing it to the PULSE live version and I like Ricks vocals in "Time" in the live PULSE version a little better...its just a great album to sit down and have a listen to...it dosent get old....I forgot Roger sings the last 2 songs....kind of wish David sang the whole thing as I think his voice is much stronger but thats splitting hairs.......Great album.....so now i am down to 6 more studio albums....I want The Wall next or Ummagumma...or "Saucerful"

Not much to add about Dark Side that hasn't already been said.

With regards to those 3 albums you mentioned, have you heard much from them?
The Wall is full of Rogers vocals (may be a bad thing if you're not too keen on them), and also has some great, relatively straight forward, songs.
Saucerful and Ummagumma are very experimental.

Personally I'd go for the Wall, but it depends on what style of Floyd you want.

I wasn't a huge Wall fan, but after I got the box set live version I really liked it more. It's great.

I think it's amazing, it's much more dramtic than the studio album and Roger is brilliant on Run Like Hell.

hi jeff im made up you have finally purchased DSOTM. All i can say is 8th? it should have been the 1st!haha it seriously is my favourite album of all time every song is PERFECTLY crafted in guitar work, vocals bass and drums.
on another note i agree with the wall, the live version is well better, songs like in the flesh has a more politcal presence on it i feel and run like hell is awesome!

It was my second studio album.  It's one of those albums that I can just sit quietly and listen to, just letting the imagery run through my mind.
