I have just had an interesting discussion about "Pigs, three different ones".

Anyone want to tell me what you think the lyrics are about.

Copied straight from Vernon Fitch's Pink Floyd Encyclopedia, it is about narrow-minded people who think they know everything & try to force their self-gratifying views on everyone else. The third verse is a reference to Mary Whitehouse who was a self styled 'clean up campaigner' in the late 60s early 70s I think.

I always understood the 3 verses to be as follows

1 Fat Cat capitalists (Big man pig man)
2 Maggie Thatcher - The then leader of the opposition in 77 before coming PM in 79
3 Mary Whitehouse - (Hey you Whitehouse) the leader of the censorship group "Viewers and listeners society"

I always saw animals as Roger splitting the human race into 3 types, pigs, dogs and sheep. In Pigs three different ones there can be no doubt that part three  indeed mentions Mary Whitehouse, who in a lot of peoples eyes, was narrow minded but I think he was just using her as an example of the type of person his pigs (humans) represented.. I am not saying the other two are not who you say they are but the song is about a type of person. In my opinion of course.
