Planet Rock Special Archive Series – Part 1

This 5 part series looks at the history of Pink Floyd from its start in the days of Syd Barrett at London’s UFO club in the 60's, to the release of 'Animals' in 1976. The final episode will be a special, with an update to the present day.

I will make each episode available shortly after it’s broadcast date, as I know a lot of you don’t have DAB Radio or SKY, so cannot listen to Planet Rock. I was going to edit them, but this will take too much time to sort out (and I have already spent the best part of a day doing this!), so you have the full show – warts an’ all! The easiest way to make them available was to open an Xdrive web storage account and load them up there, as the free storage provided is 5GB.

How to download from Xdrive:

Password: greatgig

It’s pretty easy to do and most won’t need these instructions. So, just click this link http://www.xdrive.com/login/ to access Xdrive and then log in using the account details above. Ensure you select the 'AOL/AIM Screen Name' option to log in. I am not sure if more than one person can log-in at a time, I guess we shall see?

When you get the Welcome Screen, click the Manage My Xdrive box (you must have popups allowed to access the files).

You then go to the account screen which should look like this?

Select the file you want and click the download icon on the toolbar – that’s it! The files are named floyd01.mp3 etc. I will also have the Roger Waters programme up there soon as well.

The file format is .mp3 so you will be able to play this on any Windows PC, using Media Player, or iTunes on a MAC for the 3.1% or however many of you there are (see Nick I read your stats post!).

The file size is 53 MB so it’s fairly large and will take awhile to download, if you have a slow connection. Programme length is 58mins. Please don’t forget to logout when you are finished
