A friend of mine took this in the late 80s. He was/is a member of the Ferrari owners club and there was a 'Club 89'
trackday at Silverstone where owners of fast cars can blast around the track in safety, rather than on the highway.
David was present with his Ferrari F40 shown here and his ex-Niki Lauda BMW M1, having flown himself there in his
vintage bi-plane that he kept at North Weald airfield near Harlow in Essex. So not just Nick who is a fast car nut and also
the band manager, the late Steve O'Rourke, who was one of my customers. Steve O asked me to paint a scene of his
racing GT2 Porsche for him in 1997. He was a lovely bloke, absolutely enthusiastic about old racing cars and sorely
missed in the historic motor racing world.
