TOPIC: lottery eh?..........

lottery eh?.......... 2 years ago #1

After well over 2 dozen of mine and friends email accounts submitted for Anaheim and Vegas I have failed to have one selected for upcoming lottery.  Just curious has to how many were drawn for each city.  If anyone out there got lucky please let us know what tix were actually available and also through the Amex presales.  Does suck because it's people who actually take time out to post anything relevant to RW or PF that should be the ones to be up close and personnal.  Oh well, just another nonsignificant fan I guess >  Am thinking about spending the $500 or $750 per on selected VIP packages. Only prob is that they can guarantee 1st 15 rows from  stage or side of stage.  If I'm ready to fork out that kind of dough I better be front and center.  Good luck to all buying tix!

Well I was  just checking out TM on $750 per Official VIP package MGM Grand LV. Sec 17 (which is 1st sec side stage) row r available for $1500 pair + all extra bs add-ons.  Now to me row r is not within 15 rows from stage.  A row is a row whether in front of or rising from side of stage.  Same distance ahead however u slice it.  The $500 VIP Premium seats available are even farther back it seems. Sec 13 (last set of risers off Floor C level maybe 20 rows back) and row H to boot.  Something smells fishy in ticketland folks.  Of course you do get a couple freebies and a first class buffet like we need another in Vegas (food only available in Official VIP package).  Understand that TM would like to sell premium seats and keep the money in their own pockets and not the broker but these dont seem too "premium" for what they are asking.  Thanks for letting me vent folks, I'm off to Ebay!

Roger Waters - The Wall - Official VIP Package includes:

- Specially Designed Concert Shirt
- Limited Edition Tour Poster (numbered, exclusive to ticket package)
- Official Tour Program
- Commemorative Laminate and VIP Ticket
- Collectible Pin Set
- Exclusive Roger Waters - The Wall - Tour Gift

I selected 3 cities, and did not win the Waters lottery for any.

But I purchased the Wall via Itunes a few weeks ago for a gauranteed presale code for Itunes that starts tomorrow!  Well worth the $13 in my opinion.

It was hard looking at all the great seats in the AMEX presale, but not being able to buy them because I don't have a American Express.

I'm still waiting for the UK dates to come along and the no doubt similar style lottery pre-sale nonsense.  Not entirely surprised at the apparent lack of success being reported I must say and I'm really NOT looking forward to being in very much the same kinda boat as/when the UK tix go on sale. Every RW gig to date I've always been fortunate enough to bag a great seat pretty much right down the front in the General Sale but I just can't see that happening this time round or indeed at any time ever again in the future   I'm all for trying to prevent the bl**dy touts getting in on the act and so on but pre-sales don't exactly seem to help and could just as easily be working very much in their favour TBH. You certainly can't help thinking there's more than the merest hint of fixing going on that's for sure. As for the seemingly ever increasing number of Amex style pre-sale opportunities and VIP package rip-offs etc. it's got way beyond a joke these days I think.  Standard tix for most big-name gigs are plenty expensive enough and way more than difficult enough to get hold of as it is without the blatant attempts to screw even more do$h out of genuine fans.  I've absolutely no doubt that the likes of eBay et al will be flooded with tix various from "professional" touts and loads of so-called fans allegedly selling spare tix they've suddenly found they can't use for reasons various as per bl**dy usual - scumbags  >

I'm astounded by the level of bare face banditry being reported to us here by genuine American music fans.
$750 for VIP tickets ? How does that add up.... $110 for a seat. $20 to park your car. $100 for a glass of flat Champagne and a warm curled up cheese sandwich.
$470 to cover overheads and handling fees ? = In the pocket of a greedy ba***rd.
Not particularly accurate I know but you get my point ?
Time for heads to roll. Sorry but I'd rather not go and see Mr Waters.

I didn't make the lottery either and at that price point, I'll pass. I wonder what tickets will cost Monday when they go on sale?

OK, just got presale tickets.  ;D Still pricey though...
Hanging on in quiet desperation.....
