Highly recommended. I saw them at the same venue earlier this year and they were superb. Mike sat in with them then, and his sax was incredibly beautiful in an accoustic jazz context. Great to see Gruff playing something other than a mixing desk too.

I am sorely tempted to make this gig. So much so that I checked out the RAC route planner this morning to get the mileage - 212 miles! I shall make a very late decision on whether to go or not. The real problem for me is not the distance, it's the fact that it's a weekday and work gets in the way. If I don't make it this time I will on another occasion. I'm hoping that they will soon do a gig a bit further south, makes the travelling a bit easier.

The music is very good though. I bought their CD recently - Guitars and Dreams - thoroughly recommend it to one and all.

I guarantee you will like it if you liked experimental projects such as enigma and portishead

Where else can you get John McLaughlin, Dave Brubeck (Take 5 was sensational), Fairport Convention and Riverdance all in one setlist? Last night?s performance by Acoustic Unlimited combined all of these and a lot more with a show that went from slow gentle soundscapes to duelling stunt guitars and all points in between. The show went off without problems apart from Damian announcing that he was having difficulty with his G String after the first number and they had to take a five minute break while he went backstage to relieve his difficulty.

The band was down to a three piece, comprising Damian, Gareth and Steve Gaffney on six string fretless bass. Mike Kidson sat in for most of the second set on sax, chicken and lemon (you had to be there). They were also joined on a few numbers by Howie G from The Primeval Leviathan of Truth (The P.L.O.T.), who also plays a mean guitar.
