Another great night had by all, Alice still has it even though he will be getting his bus pass in a few years time

The night started off with Joan Jett, a good performance (not my kind of rock though)and she is looking VERY fit for a 49 year old.

Then on to Motorhead, as always LOUD, LOUDER and LOUDER still ;D ;D my ears are still ringing, some moronic behaviour in the crowd though, we were just 3 rows from the front and standing, then all hell was let loose, pushing, shoving and fists flying this lasted for the whole time Motorhead were on stage, I think this goes back to the punk days, the stewards did nothing to stop it and there were some small kids at the front ???.  I did enjoy Motorhead, Lemmy sounded a little tired and some of the sound was awful at times, but still that's Motorhead for you

Then onto Alice, a great set that lasted around 2 hours. All the classics in there and a few surprises and the usual theatrics, I did try to get a set list after the show but the guy on the sound desk was having none of it "stored on a laptop, mate" >.  It got VERY crowded at the front and we were all packed in like sardines, it got VERY hot and sweaty, the girl in front of me fainted and had to be dragged out by stewards, to be fair they were handing out water in small plastic cups!!

All the songs that Alice and his band played were nailed, the mass crowd problem started again when items were thrown into the crowd, but soon died down. A fantastic show that is well worth a visit, but if you have kids with you and are standing don't even think about going down the front.

I'll have some pictures uploaded sometime in the week, I'm sorry but I can't remember the set list for the life of me, I was just enjoying the show that much.

Thanks anyway Le, I appreciate that you tried for me - after reading your review, I shall look forward to Wednesday night, thankfully I have a seat in the balcony, I declined a standing ticket!

I'm surprised that the stewards didn't do their jobs. At the NEC they usually do their level best to make sure that the crowd don't enjoy the show.

Just back from the BIC and my ears are seriously in need of silence! That was a loud gig.............

Really enjoyed Joan Jett (and she won't thank you for putting 2 years on her  , she's a 1960 babe ), Motorhead had me running for the door and Alice was a lot of fun.

Got the setlist and will do a short review tomorrow - great night, but Motorhead for me will be avoided in future!

GG

(PS, we had a fight at the front as well, during Billion Dollar Babies!).

GG, Motorhead are notorious for be LOUD, Ive seen them on several occasions and they have always left you feeling VERY deaf indeed, can you imagine what it sounded like just 3 rows from the front??? We had our own speakers, a bit like the Aussies do, only 100 times louder > >.

Thankfully no fighting during the Alice set , just a bit of pushing when items got thrown it the crowd, but as I said earlier, it was like a riot during the Motorhead set, fighting, pushing, tempers fraying  ETC and when your at the front you can't avoid this moronic behaviour(unless you move that is), we did end up involved in a couple of tussles but none of it was anything to do with us, we just happened to be in the middle of some youths intent on causing trouble. >

GG, Did you manage to get hold of the set list?? or can you remember it??  I still can't remember for the life of me what Alice played, I can remember the usual stuff but the set list defies me, must be losing my memory . I'd be grateful if you could post it up for us

I guess the Bournemouth show was the same as the NEC, no reason to change anything, so this should be what you had?

I thought it was a great night, vintage Alice - a wife beating, killing a baby and a hanging! Luvvly jubbly............

Motorhead made my ears ring after 2 songs only! I managed to catch it quick and get out, sat in my car outside and read a book for 90 minutes! Believe it or not, my ears were not ringing after the Alice set was over - I dread to think what state they would have been in, had I stayed? I would have liked to have seen them, but my ears are a very important part of my job, so couldn't stay for Lemmy and his men! I have seen some loud bands over the years, but bugger me

GG

PS. Your pics are great, thanks.
